Inspire(d) magazine cover

I got the wonderful experience of being Inspire(d) magazine's (remote) summer intern. After talking with the founder and editor-in-chief of this magazine, I was asked to create the fall issue's cover!

This internship was remote due to Covid, so at times it was difficult to communicate efficiently, but we steadily kept up with emails which helped us get our ideas and tweaks figured out in a timely manner.

The goal was to create a fun and playful magazine cover that related to the fall season in addition to the fall issue’s theme - “Change is Good”. The editor-in-chief, Aryn, communicated that she would love pink and orange to be the main colors utilized, and left the rest up to me to ideate.

I brainstormed many visual directions that could be possibilities before landing on an illustrative leaf pattern for the cover, as I thought leaves were a great symbol of change.  Using illustrator, I digitally drew the leaves and lines, testing many variations of placement along with the text to get the best outcome.
