DOCUMENTARy ADvertisements
For this project, we were asked to pick a recently released show or documentary and make a new logo, Netflix poster advertisements, and an animation for it. I chose the documentary, My Octopus Teacher, which I had just recently watched and enjoyed.
I wanted to design these posters around the deep connection and friendship Craig and the octopus formed, and how they became so intertwined throughout the documentary.
I made line drawings, portraying both characters in a different format on each poster, to get the connected feeling and emotion across in a variety of ways. I also utilized these line drawings in my title sequence animation to keep everything cohesive.
Making the title sequence was an arduous effort, as I created many line drawings and pieced each one together, scene by scene, in a stop-motion animation style.
