packaging design

For this project, we were asked to elevate a brand by renaming and rebranding its packaging. I chose Junior Mints as my packaging to rebrand and decided I wanted my new target audience to be movie lovers, as Junior Mints and other candies like it are often bought at the movies.

I decided to name the new brand, Film Real Candy Co., to relate to both my audience of movie goers and to touch on how I want this new candy brand to be focused on real ingredients. I then designed an abstract film reel canister to go on the front of this candy box to fit in with this theme.

My goal was for consumers to be enticed to buy this product, which is why I included a little movie questionnaire on the back. There are "film strips" with questions and you can write your answers down, rip them off the box, and collect for every candy box you buy and every movie you watch!

process

A helpful challenge I faced during this project was learning the different printing techniques like creating a die-line, learning how to set up special printing processes on InDesign such as varnishes, and making flat separation pages since these processes were new to me.
