PRACTICUM STUDIO

By working closely with several local clients, I received valuable, real-world experience in this studio. I was team lead and creative strategist in my group, leading client meetings, handling deadlines and work flow, as well as ideating design concepts. This class, my last semester of college, gave me such a great taste of the working world, as I formed client relationships and was able to collaborate with my peers more than ever.

Entrepreneurial DIAL

Our client, Judi, wanted us to create an ecosystem map to show ISU students how they can utilize the Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center. I enjoyed the challenge of breaking down a lot of information into a user-friendly “ecosystem map”, which turned into a dial of sorts. When our team was brainstorming on different map variations, I saw the photo-editing app, VSCO, on my phone, which inspired this idea! The logo looks like a dial, so I thought that would be a great way to format the map in a non-linear fashion and connect the user to various paths they could take on their entrepreneurial journey, as no ones path is the same.

HAWASSA HOPE GIFTing CataloG
+ DONATION CARD

Hawassa Hope founder and owner, Charisa, and designer, Ashley (from Rippke Design), wanted our team to help them create designs from a list of ten items for their foundation/non-profit that helps families and children in Ethiopia. From cards and newsletters, to social media posts and catalogs, we were to utilize their already-made brand and have fun with creating these new deliverables. Below, are a couple of the projects I took on!

DANISH VILLAGEs logo ideation

The Danish Villages clients wanted us to create an updated community brand, which included making a new logo, color palette, and brand guidelines. They encouraged these designs to highlight attractions, emphasize heritage and community, while also connecting the two Danish Villages as one. I made a Scandinavian-style logo with shapes based on each town's main attraction - Elk Horn's windmill and Kimballton's mermaid.
